Youth Programme

The applications we focus on ensure that the projects are recruited from NEETS (vulnerable people who are not in education, employment and training, could monitor and mentor them and then account for a high success rate in finding routes to employment or return to education).

Current Projects

CLOSED - Community Music
Offbeat is a route to university and/or employment for NEET (not in education, employment or training)14-19yr olds from Tower Hamlets, Newham and Hackney who are disengaged from learning by increasing their confidence, skills, qualifications and employability through creative music training. Peer Mentors will support their progress during and after the project.
CLOSED - Community Music
CLOSED - Peacock Gym Academy
The project aims to prevent the rise in NEETs among 16-18 year olds by offering Level 2 vocational courses in Sport and Performing Arts to enhance their chances of employability. Participants will have unrestricted access to an Information, Advice and Guidance counselor (IAG) to help them establish a career plan. The most at-risk and vulnerable participants will be supported and befriended by our Peer Mentors.

The Peer Leaders project will involve 40 disadvantaged young people aged 14-19 years old in a ‘peer coaches’ sports programme that has successfully turned around the lives of many disadvantaged young people – moving them away from offending and towards a positive path in life. SkyWay has over 11 years’ experience of working with young people in the community. They help individuals to achieve their personal goals, realise their potential and contribute positively to their community through social action.
